TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a program for young athletes with cognitive, emotional or physical disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. TOPSoccer was formed in response to the US Youth Soccer mission statement, which is, in part, "to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of America's youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition." There are many children with disabilities who can be provided with the opportunity to develop their physical fitness, technical skills, courage and self-esteem by playing soccer through the TOPSoccer program.
The 2025 spring program will begin March 9 and registration is now open.
Atlanta Soccer Association TOPSoccer Mission Statement
For over 25 years NASA has offered a soccer program for players with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The TOPSoccer Program was developed and implemented for the purpose of providing athletes with special needs a fun and safe soccer environment focusing on the player's abilities, not the player's disabilities.
Our TOPSoccer program is played on Sundays from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm during the fall and spring, and is available to players ages five and older at no charge. The sessions take place at the Metro North Park on the TOPSoccer artificial turf field, which is wheel chair and walker friendly. During these sessions, our players have two options: they can play a "mini soccer game" with our volunteers, or for those who prefer a less structured environment, they can play on another area of the field with volunteers and family members.
New and returning players must register online for each season and directions are provided below. All communication is via broadcast email from Coach Rob (this includes field closings, as we can play on our turf field when the other fields are closed). If you are interested in our program, but not sure if it's right fit for your child, you are welcome to visit on a Sunday during the season to see what we are all about. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Coach
