NASA Tophat Referee Program

Referees are fundamental to our game and vital to our operations. We strive to treat all members of the game with respect, and referees are among the groups we are always looking to improve and help advance as their careers dictate. Please note that the certification process is recommended for people 13 years or older. A successful referee is one who is knowledgeable about the game, on time, and responsible for their craft. Our referee assignor is Paul Hofmann and he can be reached at refassignor@nasatophat.com.

Referee Certification and Assignr:

All referees must be certified by the USSF and Georgia Soccer. Instructions on how to become a referee are available HERE. NASA Tophat utilizes the GameOfficials assigning system for all officials. Referees are assigned at NASA Tophat using the Assignr system. Reach out to Paul Hoffmann for instructions on how to be added. Please note that NASA Tophat utilizes direct deposit for all games (except for ECNL and SCCL Summer League). Games are paid out every two weeks on a rolling basis.

Referee Courses:

USSF and Georgia Soccer offer certification classes throughout the year during the off season, typically between July and August for the fall, and January and February for the spring. Please note that most of the coursework for this class is done online, while there will be about 1 hour of in person classroom instruction with 4 hours of field work.

There are now several available Entry Level Referee courses posted, including two being hosted by NASA Tophat (but one can attend ANY course they choose)

NASA Tophat will host one course at Jonquil Park in Smyrna, located very close to The Battery/Truist Park, on Saturday, January 18th, and will host another course at Metro North Park on Paper Mill Road in Marietta on Saturday, Feb 15th. Only those that have already reached the age of 13 can register. Each of the courses have a limited amount of seating and tend to fill up quickly. Plus much of the course MUST be completed online before attending the in-person events, walk-ins are no longer permitted. We suggest registering as promptly as possible to allow yourself time to complete the online requirements and to be sure to save yourself a spot before the classes fill up.
